Edward Ahlbeck Glader (b. 2007) is a Swedish pianist currently studying at Lilla Akademiens Musikgymnasium in Stockholm for Martin Sturfält. He is also a private student of professor Paolo Giacometti (Robert Schumann Hochschule, Düsseldorf, Germany).
Edward began his piano studies at the age of four for Elena Power and later for professor Stefan Bojsten
(Royal College of Music, Stockholm).
In 2023, Edward has won First Prizes in the
Steinway & Sons Nordic Junior Piano Competition, MozArte International Junior Piano Competition (Aachen, Germany) as well as the Gothenburg International Piano Competition. He is also a prize winner of international competitions such as the Savshinsky International Music Competition and the Northern Lights International Piano Festival.
Edward has received scholarships from the City of Stockholm and the Anna Whitlock Foundation. He has participated as a soloist and chamber musician in venues such as Konserthuset Stockholm,
Göteborgs Konserthus, the Queen Silvia Concert Hall, the Royal Palace in Stockholm, the Royal Academy of Arts, Confidencen, the House of Nobility,
Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde and Tumba Bruks Musiksalonger.
Edward has partaken in the EPTA Denmark International Piano Week, the Young Musicians Academy in Vänersborg, EPTA Swedens International Piano Course and Pianovisions. Edward has also participated in masterclasses for Alasdair Beatson, Håvard Gimse, Kevin Kenner, Alexander Lonquich, Alexander Melnikov, Péter Nagy, Niklas Pokki, Eliane Reyes,
Marianna Shirinyan, Per Tengstrand, Mats Widlund
and Aleksandra Žvirblytė.
